Our exciting Havieron Project

The Havieron Project has enjoyed exploration success over the past year and is rapidly approaching the delivery of an initial resource. The Havieron Project is the primary target of the Newcrest-operated earn-in with Greatland Gold and forms a key driver of Newcrest’s growth strategy. The Project is located in the Paterson Province, Western Australia, approximately 45km east of Newcrest’s 100%-owned Telfer mine.

Who we’re looking for

The primary focus of this key role is to undertake geotechnical activities that are associated with the development of the exploration decline of the Havieron Project to support Newcrest’s growth strategy. You will be efficiently identifying and managing geotechnical hazards through collection, monitoring and analysis of geotechnical data to ensure a safe workplace.

As a degree (Bachelors or higher) qualified Geotechnical Engineer, you will be an expert in underground mine development and operations in a variety of geotechnical environments. Alongside the essential hard rock experience, it would be highly advantageous if you have an understanding of weak rock mass.

Demonstrated ability to contribute to the deliver and successful outcomes for key programs and experience in any of the related geotechnical modelling and analysis software packages would be beneficial.

A firm focus will be on teamwork and fostering the development of a team. We are looking for a strong communicator and influencer and someone who is familiar with working in a highly collaborative environment with a strong emphasis on innovation and best practise.
