About The Role

Initially working within our New Business and Strategy team, the role will focus on assisting with tenders and bids in our Western Australian region. Upon successful award of these projects, the candidate will have the opportunity to move into a Project Delivery Engineering role.

As a Project Engineer at McConnell Dowell, you will be responsible for:

  • Coordinating with Managers and Superintendents on Engineering, temporary works, scheduling and status of the project;
  • Providing overall progress reports and other reports related to schedule, cost and manpower;
  • Interpreting Engineering documents and drawings for field personnel;
  • Monitoring and coordinating the preparation, maintenance and change of construction schedules, methods, manning charts and equipment requirements;
  • Developing and overseeing inspection practices of Site Engineers to ensure effective and satisfactory progress and completion of all work areas for the project; and
  • Carrying out progressive Engineering audits of temporary works in accordance with the audit schedule.

About You

To be successful in this role you will need the following:
  • Tertiary qualification in Construction/ Civil Engineering;
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in the Construction industry with tendering experience desirable;
  • Specialist experience in Project Engineering and working knowledge of Project Management;
  • Competent in planning and organising work schedules and a demonstrated ability to deliver to timelines;
  • Strong working knowledge of HS&E requirements and implementation of the same.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, organise and motivate others;
  • Have valid Australian working rights.
