Golder has a new vacancy for a Process/Mechanical Engineer to join our Mining Team based in Perth. This is a full-time position where you will provide engineering and process design to support predominantly tailings transport, dewatering and tailings evaluation projects in WA.
Key duties and responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out detailed design for dewatering technologies including but not limited to: cyclones, settling, thickening, washing, filtration, polymer addition systems;
- Carrying out detailed design of fluid/slurry/paste system hydraulic calculations including pumping, piping, line sizing, settling parameters in mining/industry related situations;
- Conducting project optimization, including definition and refinement of technical requirements, identification of alternatives and concept selection;
- Preparing proposals and providing regular project updates in conjunction with Project Managers as well as preparing and delivering technical reports on time;
- Regularly connecting with clients through project meetings and business development initiatives;
- Delivery of tasks within a project, delegating work and quality checking of deliverables ahead of formal internal review;
- Planning, training and mentoring personnel and undertaking site activities including construction quality assurance and field investigations;
- Providing input to data gathering and laboratory tests, interpreting the results where applicable; and
- Working with other professionals in project teams locally/globally, contributing to projects as necessary.
