Quant Engineer (Python) - Sydney

This is a fantastic opportunity to work in the Sydney office of one of the world's leading proprietary trading firms. With a company culture that is competitive yet collaborative, working in small, exceptionally talented teams, they build cutting-edge innovative technology solutions for their ultra-low latency trading system.

This role sits within the team that trades Futures, ETFs and Equities on the major exchanges in Asia, and they're now looking for a Quant Engineer to help build a world-class quantitative research platform. To achieve this, you'll collaborate closely with quant researchers and traders on new experiments, new capabilities and new data sources. Work will include designing and implementing improvements to optimise researcher productivity & quality and leveraging cloud infrastructure to solve substantial challenges.

This role would be perfect for someone who relishes the challenges that come with an extremely fast-paced environment and can hit the ground running, making a tangible impact from day one.


  • Significant Python software engineering experience, with expertise using Python data science stack (Pandas, NumPy, SciPy)
  • Experience working with quant trading and financial markets data
  • Strong degree in Computer Science, Maths, Physics (or similar) from a top-tier university
  • Highly proficient in designing and implementing distributed systems
  • Team lead experience with small development teams is a plus
