Mount Isa Mines is currently seeking a Reliability Engineer specialist within our Asset Management department team. In this position, you will have the opportunity to make a difference to our business through working with multidisciplinary team to identification and implementation of engineering solutions to improve plant reliability and efficiency.

You will be responsible for data analysis of our downtime system and works management systems to identify and priorities improvement opportunity and work with multiple stakeholders to implement and project manage the improvements. This is a residential position and you will be required to work in accordance with a 5/2/4/3 dayshift roster.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
  • Daily monitoring and accuracy of downtime & Time usage model system
  • Work with production, maintenance and other stakeholders to identify and develops engineering solutions to repetitive failures and all other problems that adversely affect plant operations. Including use of Pareto analysis, Root cause analysis, failure reporting and corrective actions system
  • Provide input to a Risk Management Plan and Asset Management plan that will anticipate reliability-related and non-reliability-related risks that could adversely affect plant operation.
  • Prioritise and recommend Improvement project and project justification.
  • Project management of engineering solutions, implement and performance monitoring.
  • Monthly report to senior management.
To succeed in this role will have the following skillset and attributes:
  • Minimum 5 years in the field of reliability engineering and project engineering.
  • Bachelor degree of mechanical engineering, competent in problem solving.
  • Previous experience within a large mining production or heavy industry environment.
  • Familiar with various Total Quality Management tools including Pareto Principal
  • Familiar with various failure analysis tools such as RCA, FMECA, fish bone diagram
  • Familiar with RCM principal
  • S1, S2, S3 qualifications are preferred
  • You will also be able to promote a constructive culture within your team
  • You will have the ability to make decisions, work to deadline high level of work quality, exceptional communication skills and strive for a continuous improvement
