About the role

The role of the Process Improvement Engineer is to manage and co-ordinate project activities to ensure that the Systems have been designed and constructed considering all critical factors related to Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, and Safety (RAMS).

  • Enforce the execution of and compliance with the Project System Safety Assurance Plan.
  • Review and comment on System Assurance submissions from Significant Contractors
  • Participate in and assist with the risk assessment activities for railway operations to ensure that potential hazards are identified, adequately assessed and mitigated
  • Support the project team in effectively implementing risk management elements, recommending effective risk control measures, and evaluating the initial and residual risk involved
  • Review key project processes, documentation and assurance evidence to ensure alignment with verification and validation strategy across the project lifecycle

About You

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering or related discipline
  • 2 years of relevant experience in Railway System and Safety Assurance experience
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently to organise and prioritise demands, handle multiple complex tasks and simultaneously, set and meet deadlines and follow-through within a fast-paced environment with multiple and competing demands
  • Strong communication skills (oral & written) including strong negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety of people at different levels both internally and externally.
