The role

At Adbri we are always ready to deliver on our purpose of building a better Australia. Recent changes within our Concrete, Aggregates and Masonry Division has resulted in the creation of a new position – General Manager Masonry.

As General Manager of the Adbri Masonry business you will report to the Chief Operating Officer for the Concrete, Aggregates and Masonry division of Adbri Limited and will based out of the Brisbane office. Your focus is delivering zero harm, customer, operational and shareholder value through agreed strategies and plans. You will lead your team, using contemporary business approaches and technologies to improve operational effectiveness, supply chain and customer service, and embed a strong safety, customer and value-building focus across the business.

Responsibilities

  • Visible and felt leadership of safety and performance, leading a culture of safety first and sustainable performance across your business
  • Delivering annual profit and growth targets without compromising long-term sustainability of the business
  • Developing and delivering a strategy that increases shareholder value, working with your team to translate your strategy into practical performance deliverables, whilst delivering continuous improvement and growth across the business
  • Continuously evaluating and enhancing the business unit, communicating and demonstrating an imperative for continuous improvement, inclusivity, performance and change
  • Fostering relationships with customers and stakeholders to maintain value and open doors for new opportunities
  • Develop an intimate knowledge of customers driving a culture that works to improve the customer experience and satisfaction and exceed their expectations
  • Ensuring systems and controls are in place to comply with applicable legislation, codes of practice, regulations and standards, driving compliance as the minimum standard across the region


What You Will Need To Succeed
  • A proven track record in delivering safety, environmental, performance, customer and operational outcomes
  • Significant senior leadership experience within the construction industry, most likely with a major corporation in process manufacturing sectors
  • An ability to bring about value adding, sustainable change in a mature business where operational effectiveness, customer engagement and supply chain management are critical success factors
  • Fostered and implemented new operational and business initiatives in a mature market, that delivered pricing outcomes that enhance and sustain competitive positioning whilst optimising profits and improving safety performance and customer outcomes
  • Used organisational structure, systems, policies and procedures and performance environment to deliver financial and non-financial outcomes
  • Built stakeholder (e.g. governments, regulators, local community etc) and customer relationships based on mutual trust and influence
  • Built high performing teams, through assessment of current and future organisational needs, develops or recruits talent capable of ensuring sustainable succession for key roles
