Agency overview

Infrastructure NSW provides specialist advice to the NSW Government on infrastructure investment and prioritisation. We are a NSW government agency, established under the Infrastructure NSW Act 2011. Our core functions include providing independent and strategic advice to ensure infrastructure investment decisions are underpinned by robust assessment and long term planning; monitoring NSW’s infrastructure program through independent reviews and expert analysis; recommending infrastructure projects to the NSW Treasurer for funding from the Restart NSW fund; and managing the procurement and delivery of nominated priority projects. We embrace diversity, welcome innovation and forge lasting relationships based on a common interest in making NSW the best it can be. We’re small and nimble – and our impact is mighty!

About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Liaison Officer – Construction Industry to join the team at Infrastructure NSW.

The role is a key position within our Strategy, Planning and Innovation team (SPI), which is responsible for research and analysis of trends, issues and opportunities across the entire lifecycle of infrastructure projects, and providing strategic, expert advice to Government. This includes the 20-year State Infrastructure Strategy (every 5 years), 5-year Infrastructure Plan (annually), Sectoral State Infrastructure Strategy Statements, and any other plan or advice directed by the Premier.

SPI is also responsible for implementing INSW commitments under the NSW Government Action Plan, and leading Infrastructure NSW’s interface with the construction industry,

Reporting to the Industry Engagement Manager, this role will contribute to stakeholder engagement and communications functions to support achievement of INSW’s priorities and program objectives. This includes developing and managing engagement forums and activities to inform and influence internal, external and industry stakeholders and uphold INSW’s reputation among key stakeholders.

About You

You will require experience in communications, stakeholder engagement, infrastructure policy at a state, national and local level, and have political acumen and analytical expertise. A demonstrated track record of delivering and managing engagement activities, communications material and strong relationship management skills.

The ability to work collaboratively, with transparency and trust; have a highly attuned sense of judgment and resilience; and demonstrate excellent communication, influencing and people management skills is also essential.

Your flair for influencing, collaborating and negotiating at all levels and, above all, using your strong service mentality to be proactive and diligent in relation to contributing to the ongoing development of Infrastructure NSW would also be well regarded.
