The Organisation:

kwik-ZIP Spacers is a privately owned ISO 9001 Company that designs, manufactures and supplies its patented centralizer and spacer systems to many industry sectors including production well drilling, trenchless pipeline, HDD, civil, ground engineering and construction.

The company was founded by the existing owners in 2000 following the development of its initial centralizer product.

kwik-ZIP has established distributors in Australia, New Zealand, United States and Great Britain and has a Head Office in Bunbury plus offices in Perth and Sydney and maintains warehouse facilities in Sydney, Bunbury, Texas, and the UK.

Due to sustained business growth a newly created opportunity has arisen for the role of Sales & Product Engineer to join our successful team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide product technical support to kwik-ZIP customers and the internal sales team and actively participate in the sales and quoting processes for kwik-ZIP products.
  • Engage directly with new and existing customers for the purpose of business development activities with a view to assisting the growth of sales across current and new industry sectors.
  • Engage directly with new and existing customers for the purpose of identifying new products or product iteration requirements.
  • Represent kwik-ZIP at relevant industry events including exhibitions and technical forums.
  • Driving the product design and development functions for new and existing product iterations
  • Engage with local and overseas suppliers and partners to generate the required outcomes in the product development process including researching materials and maintain oversight of the prototyping/testing, tooling and manufacturing phases. 
  • Maintain oversight of the end-to-end manufacturing process for all products and ensure products produced meet quality and customer expectations.
  • Develop and maintain relevant systems, processes and drawings to support the business and its customers.

Experience / Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor degree in Mechanical, Mechanical and Manufacturing or Civil Engineering desirable or equivalent trade experience.
  • A strong track record in technical sales and engineering environments.
  • An understanding of the Australian Water Industry standards and products approval framework.
  • Hands on practical experience in industrial product design, development and testing.
  • Experience in manufacturing with exposure to engineering plastics.
  • Understanding of the core technologies and processes relating to plastic products’ manufacture including injection moulding.
  • Solid knowledge of plastic design and production implementation, including working with tooling and manufacturing organisations.
  • Proficient in the use of CAD systems preferably Solidworks.
  • Ability to work across many different industry sectors in order to identify potential opportunities for business product offerings based on customer and industry requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skill. 
  • Able to travel intrastate, interstate and internationally as required.
