The Department of Transport brings together all transport modes to design, plan, build and operate Victoria's transport system. Maintenance Engineer – Officer

  • Annual Salary Range: $70,791 - $85,956 per annum plus superannuation
  • Tenure: Ongoing
  • Employment Type: Full Time
  • Usual Work Location: Horsham (flexibility may be available)

About the Opportunity

The successful candidate will apply negotiation and influencing skills with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with maintenance contract and Road Management Act to reach successful outcomes.

About You

As our ideal candidate, you will have:

  • Apply principles of project management and effective use of systems and tools to achieve required outcomes.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in the administration of contracts in accordance with DoT Procurement Management processes.
  • Distinguish between the different types of pavement distress and their causes and can apply principles of structural aspects of pavements (e.g., strength and stiffness) and select appropriate pavement testing methods (e.g., PaSE, dipping, etc).
  • Apply a working knowledge of the Road Management Act including hazard identification requirements and intervention identification requirements.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of how to construct and maintain asset types and undertake and present site specific analysis of possible asset management treatments.
