The Opportunity

Due to current business opportunities, we are looking to hire a Senior Civil Engineer to join our reputable Water team in the Brisbane office. This is an opportunity to join a dedicated and high-performing team of water professionals to deliver a range of significant projects for both public and private sector clients both locally and nationally.

What You’ll Do

  • Monitor, manage and execute the scope of multiple projects of varying complexity and size.
  • Write winning proposals and contributes to pursuits and contribute to business development
  • Regularly seek business opportunities via effective Client-centric practices.
  • Develop knowledge and focus on Digital Engineering/BIM-based interdisciplinary coordination constructability and/or project controls.
  • Apply, contribute to and promote the continual improvement of best practice OHS&E and Quality systems and behaviours.
  • Participate to promote a culture of technical excellence within the civil/hydraulics team.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues from all parts of the business.
  • Undertake technical engineering tasks including, but not limited to, water and wastewater planning and design.
  • Prepare reports for clients on matters relating to engineering services.
  • Attend and record activities contributing to continuing professional development e.g. achieve Chartered Professional Engineering Status or equivalent.
  • Have an appreciation of commercial requirements within the engineering business.
What We’ll Love About You
  • Typically, 5+ years’ experience in the water and wastewater industry.
  • Experience in planning and design, report writing, workshop/meeting facilitation.
  • Developing experience in managing small teams and supervising graduates.
  • Contributed to building the technical capability of others and transferring technical expertise within the organisation.
  • Experienced in developing and maintaining client relationships.
  • Some experience in identifying and managing risks in small to medium profile projects.
  • Experience in applying legislation, standards, guidelines, and project specifications.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply safety in design processes on projects.
  • Experienced in applying QA and OH&S systems.
  • Working knowledge of organisational approach to risk management, ethics, and safety.
  • Working knowledge of systems, procedures, and practices.
