About the role

We are looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to provide technical and design leadership to the IT Infrastructure Team, as a Senior Infrastructure Engineer you'll have exposure to over 35 network locations and multiple datacenters distributed across Regional Western Australia and have the privilege of providing technical leadership to a highly motivated and high performance team.

You will;

  • Design, Plan, implement and maintain corporate data communications network services, components and associated infrastructure.

  • Create and maintain technical documentation, reports and records regarding infrastructure solutions.

  • Provide escalated (3rd level) technical support, troubleshooting and fault rectification of high level technical issues related to network equipment and services.

  • Analyse tenders, supervise acceptance tests and commission communications systems and equipment.

  • Act as an interface between the organisation and suppliers/carries/vendors regarding high level technical issues and carrier billing.

  • Provide guidelines for training in the use and maintenance of networking equipment, systems and facilities.

  • Monitor the performance of the organisations communications carries/network providers in relation to established service level agreements and business needs.

  • Test, implement, monitor and tune networking software/hardware to ensure optimum systems performance and highlight potential issues.

  • Manage the analysis of network traffic data and providing recommendations on performance improvements to network infrastructures as appropriate.

  • Participate in corporate change control procedures and methodologies.

What you’ll bring to the team

  • Extensive experience and specialist skills in the configuration and maintenance of networking/communications infrastructure, including the ability to support a variety of technologies.

  • Good knowledge of industry standards and regulations relevant to the data communications/networking.

  • Strong understanding of emerging technologies in the communications sphere and their potential commercial applications.

  • Strong skills in Router Hardware/Software, Switch Hardware/Software, IP Protocols, Routing Protocols, Firewalls.

  • Intermediate Project Management skills and an ability to prioritise multiple tasks.

  • Excellent troubleshooting/problem solving skills.

  • Advanced operational knowledge of networking systems and software covering both Local Area Networks (LAN) and Wide Area Networks (WAN).

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills couple with customer service orientation.
