SecureEnergy, a Clough Elecnor Joint Venture, has been selected to deliver the engineering, procurement, and construction of Project EnergyConnect. EnergyConnect is a new 700 km 330 kV transmission line running from Wagga Wagga in NSW to Robertstown in SA. The project scope also includes the construction of supporting infrastructure, such as substations and access roads along the route of the transmission line. When built, EnergyConnect will enable future renewable energy projects to connect to the electricity grid.

Key Responsibilities

As the Substation Superintendent you will play a key role in the planning, procurement and the safe and successful delivery of this exciting new project, this will involve:

  • Assisting with development of project strategy and methodology to deliver the civil works packages
  • Leadership and management of site operations for compliance with the substation construction programme
  • Contribution with subcontract packages, tender negotiations and management of subcontractors
  • Ensure site safety, quality and environment plans and controls have been implemented effectively

This role will be based within our Sydney project office for up to 12 months with a focus on approvals and planning prior to migrating to site full-time in the construction delivery phase of the project.

Your Skills & Experience

Ideally you will have relevant Tertiary and industry qualifications and significant experience in a senior Supervisory role for construction and engineering projects. You will also have:

  • An ability to form effective relationships and collaborate with the project team, client and all external stakeholders
  • Well-developed leadership skills and an ability to instil a culture of safety and process compliance
  • Experience in construction and delivery of substations
