Principal Engineer / Design Technical Officer

What will you be doing?

Our high performing Energy and Resources team continues to grow from strength to strength and we are looking for a Principal Engineer or Design Technical Officer to support our land development team delivering electrical reticulation and road lighting projects.

Your role will include-
  • Preparing detailed design drawings, reports and schedules for new subdivision electrical reticulation projects adhering to Energex design standards;
  • Preparing detailed design drawings, reports and schedules for new subdivision communications projects adhering designs to NBN™ standards;
  • Preparing detailed design drawings, reports and schedules for new subdivision rate 3 lighting projects adhering to council design standards;
  • Coordinating directly with internal and external stakeholders;
  • Completing site inspections and collect relevant design data;
  • Taking ownership and managing project/design deliverables and due dates;
  • Engaging in weekly project update meetings;
  • Mentoring and providing guidance to the more junior members of the team; and
  • Assist with project tendering and fee build ups.


Who are we looking for?

You will come to us with-
  • Experience in lighting and electrical subdivision design;
  • Experience utilising, LV-drop, Perfect lite and Autocad;
  • Experience using the Energex design manuals;
  • Advanced Diploma in electrical engineering or equivalent experience; and
  • A current QLD/NSW/WA drivers license.

Highly regarded skills include-
  • Good eye for detail and comfortable working to tight deadlines; and
  • Experience in computational design, design algorithms and automation of data manipulation.
