A fantastic opportunity exists for an experienced, self-motivated Project Engineer with Automation background to join this global leader in spray technology for industrial use.

Reporting to the Project Team Leader, you will be responsible for designing and managing projects to ensure products delivered to the company's quality standard, the project timeline and budget.

This is a position for an enthusiastic, results orientated and self-motivated candidate who will be driven for success. You will have automation or PLC programming experience.

Duties include, although are not limited to:

  • Work closely with Sales Engineers to develop project proposals
  • Draft detailed project timeline and host project meeting with stakeholders
  • Design concept of fluid delivery systems and hydraulic equipment
  • Design of automation and process control machinery Costings, HAZOP
  • Develop Project I/O lists - Functional Descriptions for an automation control
  • Supervise the development of mechanical engineering drawings in conjunction with CAD drafter
  • Supervise electrical drawings preparation of documentation for projects in collaboration with customer requirements
  • Being able to produce electrical drawings would be a bonus for this role
  • Work closely with purchasing and manufacturing personnel to ensue project timelines are met
  • Supervise assembly and testing components and systems including prototypes and development of documentation for production
  • Liaise with customers and Sales Engineers to conduct onsite commissioning
  • Costing and budget control
  • Possible interstate travel for onsite commissioning

To be successful in this role, you will possess the following attributes:

  • A strong passion for engineering
  • Australian recognised engineering qualification - Mechatronics or Electrical
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in automation engineering design and/or project management
  • Good understanding of electrical, electronic and mechanical principles
  • Reasonable knowledge of PLC and Drives, hydraulic and pneumatic systems is preferred
  • Hands-on experience & field experience with control panel preferred
  • Excellent trouble shooting, analysis and diagnostic skills on system-based equipment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills including CAD software
  • You will have a can-do proactive attitude and always able find a solution
  • The ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
