About The Opportunity

As we continue to innovate and commit to reducing our operational footprint and improving our environmental performance, advancing refinery residue filtration has been a significant part of the process and critical to the successful operation of the facilities.

As part of this growth, our Global Impoundments team is expanding and seeking a Filtration Senior Process Engineer to join us on this journey and take on the responsibility of providing optimum process performance of the residue filtration plants by ensuring all filtration process specifications are known, tracked and measured.

In Addition, You Will Also Be

You will play a key role in providing detailed process knowledge of residue filtration facilities, operational best practices and improvement opportunities.

  • The SME expert and providing technical input for process performance to the Filtration Equipment Centre of Excellence (CoE) and capital projects
  • Participating in the development of operating procedures and Safe Work Instructions (SWI’s) to ensure consistent and effective operation of the facilities.
  • Working across all Alcoa Residue Filtration locations delivering process technical support, deploying best practice process frameworks, measures, tools and systems to support optimising performance. and meeting objectives across challenging multi-cultural and multi-language work environments
  • Leading the problem solving to root cause activities that occur within the facilities to support operations towards achieving key performance metrics.
  • Working collaboratively with Mechanical and Electrical Engineers, the Impoundments team, Reliability Excellence (REX) Implementation Specialists, and location Reliability Engineers to drive improvement opportunities.
  • Assisting and advising into all the global sites as the Filtration is installed.

About You

To play a part in our ongoing success we are seeking someone with:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Chemical Engineering or related discipline
  • Broad experience across Mining and / or Refining within a process leadership capacity
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence multiple stakeholders across various global locations
  • Detailed process knowledge, filtration experience, expertise in the Bayer Process and specific SME areas
  • Experience in developing successful organisational & site level reliability strategies/frameworks and roadmaps
  • Strategic analytical thinking and has a creative approach to problem-solving
  • High energy, detail minded, ability to work in a systematic, structured and efficient manner.
