JOB DESCRIPTION

We have an exciting opportunity for those looking to commence their Certificate III in Engineering- Fitter & Turner, with Custom Fluidpower, Australia's largest independent Fluid Power Provider in their Banyo, Brisbane location.

In this apprenticeship, you will primarily work in a large, modern, clean workshop. There will be some provisions for offsite work scopes, along side trades persons and technicians to learn from and work with.

Functions and responsibilities will include but are not limited to;

  • Accompany tradesmen to install hydraulic systems and/or components
  • Hydraulic cylinder, Pump, Motor and Valve repairs
  • Spray painting repaired and new components
  • Welding, Machining, Tube Bending and Flaring
  • Assemble and Pressure test cartridge valve assemblies
  • System diagnosis and data logging
  • Onsite filtration and fluid testing to high standards
  • Maintain and use hand and power tools.
  • Follow established safety and environmental policies and procedures, and promote continuous improvement of safety and environmental performance in the workplace.
  • Workshop maintenance and cleaning
  • Paperwork, including Risk assessments, Reports and Quotes
  • Use and become familiar with company computer systems (Netsuite, Box and Outlook)
  • Understand and apply company policies, procedures and tools.
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned (including Stores work)

Working side by side with experienced tradesmen, we are looking for someone who can demonstrate the following skills and traits:

  • Interest in engineering
  • Safety conscious
  • Physically able to perform the inherent requirements of the role
  • Willingness to learn and be solution focused
  • Neat and legible Handwriting
  • Computer literacy
  • Have a strong aptitude for mathematics
  • Be willing to commit to a 4-year apprenticeship
  • Punctual
  • Willing to work well within a team
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Drivers Licence and reliable vehicle
  • Can complete a medical including a hearing and drug & alcohol test

You will undertake a 4-year Apprenticeship and attend TAFE where required to obtain this qualification. The first stage of the selection process will involve a phone interview and only successful applicants will be contacted. Final interview stage will be an onsite interview with the host employer (Custom Fluidpower).
