JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Description

Construction / Infrastructure Senior Lawyers – 5+ years' experience (Melbourne)

Our construction and infrastructure team is absolutely thriving, and we are in need of more experienced front-end lawyers to support the development of major infrastructure and energy projects for domestic and international clients.

About The Projects Team

The construction of major infrastructure and energy is part of our DNA. We have created a full service offering unique in the Australian market, with capability to support clients throughout their entire project lifecycle. Working with some of the biggest names in both sectors, our team of leading lawyers provide transactional, advisory and contentious services on complex local, international and multi-jurisdictional projects.

About The Opportunity

We have roles available in both our Melbourne and Sydney offices!

As a core member of the Projects team, you will work closely with Partners and your colleagues on high profile front-end energy and infrastructure projects primarily with major contractors and developers. We work across a range of industries, however the current focus is on renewables and power infrastructure, transport (major rail and road projects), water and social infrastructure. We are looking for front-end senior lawyers with experience in any (or multiple) of these areas. Strong experience in advising on PPP projects, particularly for our Melbourne role, would be ideal.

You will be given a high level of responsibility and autonomy to lead matters, so you will need to be a technical expert who is confident advising clients around procurement and project structuring, with complex drafting and negotiation skills. Additionally, you will be a key contributor to the success of the team, working closely with Partners on business development activities to identify new client opportunities and contribute strategically to proposal and tender efforts. You will also be encouraged to develop your own valuable relationships and build on your market presence.

About You

At Pinsent Masons we do things a bit differently, and look for high-performers who are not afraid to try new things and question the status quo.

You will also need to have the following skills and attributes:

  • Be a qualified lawyer with at least five years experience (in-house or private practice)
  • Have demonstrated expertise in front-end construction and infrastructure law
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to assimilate information quickly and handle multiple priorities under pressure or within tight timeframes
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to liaise with clients and diverse stakeholder audiences
  • Be commercially aware and enthusiastic about business development
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced high-performing team, and
  • Bring energy and passion to the role!
