JOB DESCRIPTION

Family owned since 1988, Thomas Foods International is South Australia’s largest food processing business, with operations in all channels of the livestock supply chain. The new Murray Bridge development will be Australia’s largest and most modern multispecies processing facility featuring world class design with state of the art technology and less than one hour from the Adelaide CBD.

The Site Engineer is a critical position in this major development project. Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, you will ensure that all Package Vendors’ contracts are effectively managed day to day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinating all vendor interdependencies and ensuring compliance with all of their contractual requirements
  • Reviewing and analysing technical information related to construction and quality activities and queries and providing visibility through progress and status reports
  • Liaising with the Superintendent on all contract administration matters at site for all contracts and service agreements allocated from award until completion
  • Working closely with stakeholders and facilitating organisational interfaces across a range of departments and disciplines including Engineering and Procurement
  • Preparation of weekly and monthly reports


Key Requirements
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role
  • Tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Engineering or related discipline
  • Experience within an FMCG construction environment, food or meat industry experience preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in reading, interpreting and explaining complex package vendor equipment and building plans
  • Knowledge of construction project administration processes and contracts
  • Qualifications in mechanical or electrical disciplines preferred

You will have the ability to build collaborative relationships and communicate effectively with all project stakeholders. Excellent writing skills, attention to detail and the ability to detect errors and inconsistencies is essential. This role is a critical part of the project delivery team and is a unique opportunity to be part of this major greenfield development project.
