The Role

Reporting into the Engineering Team Leader and based in Darra, we are looking for a Mechanical engineer with experience in HVAC.


The Responsibilities

Some of the key responsibilities will include:


  • Design engineering services to meet relevant codes and standards and to comply with VAE standards and processes.
  • Design engineering services to be safe throughout the life cycle.
  • Identify opportunities & risk in a timely manner.
  • Preparation of specifications, reports and documentation to meet relevant codes and standards and to comply with VAE standards and processes.
  • Uphold VAE values of Smarter HVAC solutions and Built in Certainty.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of VAE standards and processes.
  • Operate in accordance with the engineering code of ethics.
  • Attendance of meetings with clients.
  • Attend regular design and coordination meetings.
  • Liaise with Project Manager to monitor project hours and profitability.
  • Preparation of fee proposals under the supervision of a senior engineer.
  • Hold pre-project meetings with the project team to ensure understanding of the project scope, conditions of tendering, project completion date.
  • Liaison with clients, architects, builders and contractors to provide and obtain information relevant to the project in a timely manner to the project to ensure the construction program is achieved.


The ideal candidate will have:

  • Minimum two years industry experience
  • Engineering or relevant qualification
  • Ability to read and understand designs and schematics
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to multi-task, organize, and prioritize work
  • Ability to meet project deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Sound communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft suite of software, Load estimation software including Camel; thermal modelling knowledge
  • Knowledge and proficient use of sustainability tools such as Greenstar & NABERS
  • Confident in communicating and presenting
