Job Tasks and Duties:

 Site safety, plant and power tool safety;

 Study specifications in blueprint, sketches site conditions to prepare project layout

and determine dimensions and materials required;

 All procedures associated with 1st & 2nd Fixing;

 Manual lifting & handling;

 Cut timber & other materials with hand & power tools, nail & assemble cut & shaped parts;

 Erect framework;

 Assemble and fasten materials to make framework and props, using hand tools and

wood screws, nails, dowel pins, or glue;

 Install structures and move into position;

 Erect scaffolding for assembling of structures;

 Construction of the forms including placement of required supports / propping,

connection of shutters via z-bars, levelling of wall and induction of pour height;

 Explain and enforce Occupational Health and Safety requirements and other industrial

safety matters;

 Maintain a safe and clean work environment;

 Instruct onsite personnel of lesser experience.

Experience required: AQF Certificate III including at least two years employment experience or minimum 3 years employment experience may substitute for qualification;

Job Objective: 

 The Carpenter is responsible for the construction, erection, installation and repair of structures and fixtures of wood, plywood, wallboard and other materials.
