JOB DESCRIPTION

As part of our new Adelaide Service Delivery alliance partnership with SA Water to improve outcomes for its customers, we’re building an Adelaide Production & Treatment workforce responsible for operating five water treatment plans and five wastewater treatment plants across the Metro Adelaide area.

Working in partnership with SA Water as one brand and one team, our embedded Adelaide Production & Treatment alliance team will enable a safe and engaged workforce to meet SA Water’s customer service targets and regulated responsibilities at the lowest sustainable cost for Adelaide customers.

About the role

We are currently seeking both Water and Wastewater Engineers. Both roles will work as part of the Business Improvement team, with a strong focus on innovation and improvement to help realise efficiencies, reduce costs and improve the safety and performance of the Adelaide metro water and wastewater & reuse operations.

The purpose of the Engineer is to:

  • Ensure the efficient and compliant operation of the Water Supply above ground assets (tanks, pump stations, above ground trunk mains, and associated infrastructure) allowing a safe and permanent water supply to the population
  • Contribute to the optimisation, efficiency and continuous improvement of the operation of the Adelaide Service Delivery Alliance’s metropolitan water and/or wastewater and reuse systems
  • Ensure the health and safety of the staff, subcontractors and visitors in proximity to the above ground water assets
  • Ensure that operations of the Water Supply Assets are carried out in an environmentally sound manner
  • In conjunction with SA Water, participate in the development of the Operations Control Centre (OCC) personnel and systems
  • Collaborate proactively with SA Water in the development and review of short-term and long-term production planning strategy

About you

You will be excited by the opportunity to innovate and drive optimisation. You will always be looking for better ways to do things, and continually question the status quo.

You will be engaging and passionate when sharing your ideas and will encourage and motivate others to think outside the box. You will play a significant role in driving a culture of continuous improvement across the operation.

Ideally you will bring with you the following qualifications, skills and experience:

  • Bachelor of Engineering Degree (civil, chemical, water treatment, hydraulics, mechanical, environmental) or equivalent
  • Experience in the operation and maintenance of water and/or wastewater treatment plants
  • Experience in process optimisation
  • Demonstrated Project Management experience
