Your new team

Our Technology Services group delivers and supports technology infrastructure, projects and services to the Fund. Structured around a engage, enable and deliver model and supported by a Governance function, the team aims to provide a seamless technology experience that supports the organisation and our people in delivering great outcomes for our members.

Your new role

  • Identify and advocate use-cases for cloud integrations; assist in planning migration of applications and technology services onto the enterprise cloud platform
  • Assist projects with cloud associated scope, planning, resourcing, scheduling, and costing
  • Design and oversee proof of concepts by which to objectively measure and optimally exploit various cloud services
  • Define principles, patterns and practices to enable automation and standardise cloud integration for identified solutions
  • Automate and maintain process & tools utilized to perform data quality checks
  • Provide quality assurance over the application of engineering standards across the cloud environment
  • Build, implement, and monitor cloud automation strategy and plan to improve effectiveness and reduce release cycle time
  • Provide engineering governance over vendor deliverables, where applicable
  • Lead and motivate the engineering team to ensure delivery of exceptional quality build outcomes whilst creating a sense of urgency around genuinely delivering better experiences for our members and colleagues
  • Liaise effectively with project team members, business stakeholders and external vendors to build strong partnerships to help create a collaborative, transparent, and high performing culture
  • Actively engage with the wider Engineering Practice to assist in uplifting overall engineering capability, create a sense of community, drive continuous improvement
  • Support and coach Engineers to develop strong engineering skills including sharing different requirements development techniques such as user story development and human centered design
What you'll need
  • Experience working in complex enterprise environments
  • Deep understanding of Linux and/or Windows systems engineering
  • Strong experience in one or more of the following public cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, Google Cloud and with a desire to work with many
  • Experienced with setting up cloud-based CI/CD/CT Pipelines including using tools such as Git, Bamboo/Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes/OpenShift, SonarCube, etc.
  • Solid Configuration Management Experience with either Puppet, Chef, Ansible or Saltstack
  • Prior experience in site reliability engineering
  • Strong understanding of cyber- security and the application of cyber security in cloud-based solutions
  • Ability to provide detailed designs or support the development of detailed designs for cloud solutions
