Our Digital Grid Solutions provide mission-critical real-time solutions to ensure efficiency and reliability in the operation and management of the electricity grid. Our solutions include SE Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS), ArcFMGIS, Distributed Energy Resource Management (DERMS), Autogrid, Smart Metering, Grid Asset Advisor, and Energy Profiler Online. Our Digital Grid business has a number of Regional Solution Centres (RSC) globally, one of which is in Australia and supports the Pacific Zone, currently has an exciting Sydney-based opportunity for a Senior Project Engineer.

The primary focus of the role is the efficient and successful deployment of our solutions to both in-house and to customer environments, with an initial focus on ADMS. Taking ownership of this deployment function in both the project delivery and ongoing support operations, and facilitation of knowledge sharing on this area to the wider team. As part of a multi-tech RSC, the expectation is to become involved in areas beyond ADMS deployment, and also to upskill as required in the deployment of other Digital Grid Solutions systems.

Specific Activities;
  • Supporting the Project Manager with project delivery and/or support services as required
  • Participate in or lead project activities including system design, documentation, deployment, testing, and commissioning as well as customer support contracts
  • Gaining and continuously developing your technical skills relevant to the ADMS projects
  • Lead all project activities related to the deployment of ADMS and third-party software
  • During installation ensure that configuration, updates, and patches are identified, planned, documented, and executed on both project test and customer production systems
  • Working as part of a project team, implement our ADMS software, and act as technical lead for some tasks
  • Diagnosis of functionality and/or performance issues with ADMS software in various testing phases
  • Provide training and technical support to L1 and L2 support team on ADMS issues to resolve critical customer problems quickly and efficiently
About you;
  • A tertiary qualification in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related technical field as well as a solid track record in a relevant technical discipline
  • Expert level knowledge in installation and utilization of electrical distribution control systems
  • An essential requirement is sound SCADA and ADMS product knowledge, complemented by solid experience with large electrical utilities strongly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of software architecture, cybersecurity, system architecture, networks, platform, system auditing and logging, system sizing, ADMS historical and database, and associated deployment methodologies
  • High level of organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills including strong client relationship skills
  • An agile learner with the ability to quickly grasp new technologies at a high level
