Commworx is currently working on multiple utility projects across NSW in Road, Rail, and Gas industries.

 We would like to add the services of an experienced Construction Manager to assist with the delivery of the growing list of critical infrastructure projects we are currently working on. We are looking for someone to join our project team to assist with the operations involved with managing a workforce of over 40 staff members, and multiple projects.

The Role

As the Construction Manager, you will utilise your skills and experience to achieve the successful delivery of projects. You will play a pivotal role in managing the client relationships from field to senior management level. You will also have a demonstrable track record of on time delivery within budget combined with sub-contractor management whilst fostering strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, we are seeking an experienced, confident, and driven Construction Manager. You will be accountable for leading all aspects of large, complex Utilities infrastructure projects up to a value of $5 Million

Responsibilities:

 The development, management and review of project strategy, critical path milestones and project plans encompassing all elements of project delivery and performance;

  • Manage the delivery of projects to fully satisfy commercial agreements with clients and achieve target business outcomes for the company
  • Procurement and negotiation for required project resources including: labour, materials, plant and equipment;
  • Ability to read, interpret and review Architectural and Engineers drawings and specifications;
  • Working closely with the onsite Project Delivery teams on multiple projects to coordinate various site requirement such as labour, procurement, delivery of materials, plant and equipment;
  • Managing tender process, contract bids and negotiations for the specific project(s);
  • Oversee project safety performance, ensuring safety risks are managed and good safety practices are consistently adopted.
  • Scope of works management;
  • Highly skilled in problem solving;
  • Ensure financial performance of the project through cost control and labour efficiency;
  • Ability to complete projects within a set period and budget, and meet Contractors program;
  • Understanding of commonly used programs such as AutoCAD 2D and 3D, Aconex, Hammertech and Microsoft Project;
  • A good knowledge of building practices, Australian Standards and BCA codes; and
  • Ability to work under pressure.

What you will need to succeed:

 10 years minimum experience in managing complex and large-scale Utilties projects with large work-forces and multiple clients and stakeholders management

  • Extensive experience in managing ASP1 electrical infrastructure projects on AUSGRID and ENDEVOUR networks
  • Demonstrated experience in commercial management including but not limited to financial reporting, forecasting, variations, budget and cost control.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to analyses and resolve complex issues
  • Strong knowledge of building Standards & Tolerances, BCA's, OHS regulations and QA systems
  • Utilisation of Prince 2 essential
  • Risk management and demonstrated safety focus in operational management
  • NSW Driver’s License and White card
