About the role

Clyde & Co's Projects & Construction practice in our Perth office is a full service offering with both front-end and back-end capability. At present, the team requires a professional and vibrant Legal Secretary to provide support to a Partner and team of lawyers. You will bring your experience and positivity to this busy and rewarding role.

Key responsibilities

This role is ideally suited to an organised, solution focussed secretary, accustomed to being the right-hand person to a Partner and team of allocated fee earners.

You will use your strong legal support background, forward thinking approach and initiative as you take on responsibility for the following:

General typing, drafting and amending of documents including PowerPoint

Diary management, including organising internal and external client meetings

Attending to client and matter queries, including managing the process of opening new clients and matters through to closure of a matter

Maintaining paper and electronic filing systems

Monthly billing, including ensuring that client SLA's and specific billing requirements are followed

Capturing fee earner business development activities in the firm's client management system

Arranging flights and accommodation and preparing itineraries

Assisting with coordination and planning of internal and external events.

Key skills and experience

To be considered for this postion you will have:

  • Minimum 2-4 years' experience as a legal secretary
  • Proficiency across Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • A professional and polished presentation with clear and concise communication
  • A demonstrated ability to organise workloads to meet tight deadlines
  • Experience with billing (experience with Elite 3E will be regarded favourably)
  • The ability to multi-task with a proactive and flexible approach to your work
  • Willingness to assist with all other reasonable work related fee earner requests.

Reporting Structure

In addition to any Partner reporting lines, all Legal Secretaries will report to the National Legal Support Manager.
