About Our Operation

The Saraji open cut mine is a coal mine located near Dysart in the Central Queensland region of Australia. The mine is located 200 kilometres south west of Mackay and 60 kilometres south east of the mining town of Moranbah. The Saraji Coal Mine has coal reserves amounting to 648 million tonnes of coking coal, one of the largest coal reserves in Asia and the world. Coal produced at the Saraji mine is exported to overseas steel makers in India, the Americas, Europe, East Asia and South Asia.

About The Role

Reporting to the Manager Engineering Saraji this role provides support to the broader Engineering team and offers a wide variety throughout any day. The Engineering Officer acts as a conduit between the site Engineering team and the broader site, in addition to internal and external stakeholders throughout Queensland. The position is dynamic, with an interesting range of functions and stakeholders as a part of a positive team environment.

This position will be based at Saraji Mine.

In This Role You Will

  • Champion contractor management process, including on-boarding, inspections and audits
  • Provide administrative and office support to the Engineering team
  • Coordinate employee on-boarding, travel, accommodation and visitor bookings
  • Support of department processes including cost reports and purchasing requisitions
  • Support governance and projects execution teams with core processes
  • Provide oversight for the administration of systems and processes in Engineering


About You
  • Energetic and engaging with a desire to build strong and genuine working relationships with internal and external stakeholders across all levels
  • Demonstrated experience supporting a team of professionals in an administrative capacity
  • Experience and fluency in Microsoft, with SAP advantageous
  • Well-organised, self-starting and proactive approach to work, with a strong ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks and deadlines
  • Experience working with third-party vendors and contractors, supporting cost control and purchase orders is advantageous
  • The ability to reactively problem solve in a dynamic changing environment
