We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Engineers to join our Team.

Fredon is searching for a Project Engineer to successfully plan, manage and coordinate all site related aspects to ensure completion of the project in accordance with Fredon and the Client’s expectations and within (or exceeding) all Fredon quality, safety, environmental, time, profit and project business plan objectives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Plan and manage the delivery of infrastructure/construction projects from solution design and tendering, through to commissioning and delivery.
  • Direct and coordinate manufacturing, construction, installation, maintenance, support, documentation and testing activities for designated projects.
  • Oversee and review plans, drawings, technical specifications and provide recommendations and/or solutions when required.
  • Perform detailed calculation and analyse to compute and establish manufacturing, construction and installation standards and specifications.
  • Develop, implement and monitor project measures and deliverables, to ensure operational efficiency, adherence with contractual and compliance obligations, and cost/budgetary constraints.
  • Establish and monitor quality control standards for all projects to ensure adherence to engineering principles, Australian standards and safety regulations.
  • Inspect completed installations and observe operations, to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications, as well as compliance with operational and safety standards.
  • Actively participate in the development of detailed work methods stations and identify and action key risks and opportunities
  • Plan, manage and monitor of project labour in accordance with relevant employment legislation.
  • Provide technical planning input into the development of project schedules and ensure that project milestones are met by engaging stakeholders
  • Assist in estimating variation works and additional scope changes
  • Contribute to high level methodology and develop short term program

Successful Candidate Will Have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering
  • Previous demonstrated experience 
  • Superior management and leadership abilities and management experience of subcontractors, suppliers and direct labour
  • Experience in managing multiple work groups
  • Demonstrated experience in reviewing design documentation, in understanding drawings, in providing constructability review and implementing final design plans
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Electrical AS standards and Codes of Practice (e.g., AS3000)
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • High level problem solving and analytical thinking
  • Team player attitude
