About you

Arup have a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic Senior Highways Drainage Engineer to join our Highways team in the Perth office. As a valued and key member of the drainage engineering team, you will bring your design / technical expertise, commercial acumen and leadership skills to a variety of exciting urban and rural highway projects.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering.
  • Working towards chartered membership of IEAust or equivalent.
  • Track record in highways design and up to date experience of highways projects and procedures.
  • Extensive knowledge of Austroads design guides and Main Roads WA supplements, and relevant standards.
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office software.
  • Proficient user of various drainage design software.
About the role

Arup offers a comprehensive consultancy service for all types of highway projects across the globe. Our experience ranges from feasibility studies and planning through design and supervision of construction to the maintenance of completed projects.

You will be a key part of our Highways team covering a broad range of skills relating to road design and pavement design. This will include design and technical consultation in technical design areas such as, road drainage design, culvert design, and water sensitive urban design. You may also be responsible for the development of others through providing guidance, training and feedback.

In this role you will:
  • Undertake design and consulting services for a various major road projects and related areas.
  • Be involved in investigation, design, analysis and modelling, technical documentation, cost estimates, tender submission, project scheduling, and meeting deadlines and budgets.
  • May be required to work directly with clients, contractors and government agencies at both a technical and strategic level.
  • Be responsible for representing your team or group at external meetings and you may be involved in developing events, activities and internal projects of some complexity.
