The Role

As a Senior SOC Engineer, you will develop and grow the cyber threat detection platforms and capabilities in our SOC which operates on a 24x7x365 basis. This includes security uses cases, playbooks, and response plans. After implementation, ongoing maintenance and tuning will be required, as well getting our Tier 1 SOC Engineers up to speed on any new and improved processes.

Our Secure Internet Gateway and Government Infrastructure operates within our Data Centres. You will detect, contain, remediate, and prevent security incidents to protect us and our customers.

You will
  • Protect Macquarie Government’s Secure Internet Gateway and Infrastructure
  • Be an SME in security operations and improve our incident management process
  • Evaluate security bulletins and alerts
  • Implement preventive and corrective countermeasures against cyber-threats
  • Provide our customers with confidence in your ability to handle complex security incidents

You must
  • Be a security operations expert who can handle complex incidents
  • Bring a strong technical skillset others can learn from
  • Have experience in incident response, threat hunting, case development and play books
  • Come from the defence side of security
  • Always be looking at ways to improve how we identify and resolve incidents
  • Have a minimum of Baseline Security Clearance
