The opportunity 

We have an exciting opportunity for a Systems Assurance Engineer to join the Major Works Division (MWD) of the Engineering and Maintenance Directorate within Sydney Trains. The role will be a part of the Operational Technology Systems Architecture & Assurance Team.

The team supports Sydney Trains Operational Technology and the delivery of its Annual Works Program within the MWD, a large engineering, construction and maintenance Hub at Sydney Trains. Bringing fit for purpose solutions & informed decision making to large multi-disciplinary projects, to operate and maintain a world class railway. 

The primary responsibility of the role is to plan, design and execute testing and assurance activities for Operational Technology projects to achieve business, project and functional objectives. You will also be involved in:

  • Providing systems assurance (Reliability Availability Maintainability Safety) expert engineering for Operational Technology projects and their stakeholders.
  • Championing the continuous improvement of systems assurance and testing processes and practices.

About you:

  • You will have completed a four or more years ITEE/Electrical/Systems or equivalent engineering qualification and have a minimum of three years’ work experience as a professional engineer, qualifying for Professional Engineer (MIEAust) Engineers Australia membership grade.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Engineering Asset Management and Systems Engineering including Systems Assurance (RAMS) processes.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of rail industry technology applications and needs.

Salary and Benefits 

The salary for this position is RC6 Grade A-E $127,559 - $141,442 per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
