Junior Engineer, Ongoing, NEW SOUTH WALES

We are looking for passionate, driven and innovative Junior Software Engineer to join our world class Engineer Team at Service NSW

We have Permanent Ongoing and Fixed Term Temporary Software Engineer roles now available.

We are offering a base salary range between $77,876 plus employer’s contribution to superannuation and leave loading, plus offering flexible working arrangements.

  • Make it easier for customers to access government Services. Digital licence is just the beginning. We are solving tons of challenges including Digital Identity that need fresh thinking and innovative ideas.
  • Eliminate paper, save the environment, cut red tape and digitise hundreds of customer facing transactions
  • Help customers with the cost of living, by making it easier to access rebates, vouchers and other assistance. Some examples are the Cost of Living Program, Energy Rebate, Toll Relief, Active and Creative Kids, Seniors Savers card etc.
  • Make it easier for people to start and run new businesses in NSW by enhancing our award-winning Easy-to-do-Business services
  • Create solutions to help marginalised and vulnerable sections of our society such as the homeless and victims of violence.

Some experience we would like to see for this role:


  • Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Full stack experience preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in using HTML, jQuery and Front-end frameworks such as React.js, Angular.js, Vue.js
  • Demonstrated experience in one or more backend frameworks such as Springboot, Node.js / Express.js or .NET and popular MVCs
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Javascript, Java, C/C++, Python, Go, Kotlin, C#, TypeScript
  • Open to working in a pair-programming / XP environment
  • Passion for continual learning and development, as well as adopting new technologies easily
  • Can-do attitude and willingness to tackle complex problems

A talent pool may be created for future ongoing and temporary roles and is valid for a period of up to 18 months.
