About - Our Client
Our client operates and manages Australia's largest export coal rail network, the Central Queensland Coal Network. Connecting more than 50 mines to five major export ports, plus many domestic consumers, the Central Queensland Coal Network is a pivotal component to Queensland's coal industry.

Their extensive Asset Renewal and Maintenance Program includes ballast cleaning, a crucial part of maintaining a rail network vital to ensuring the safe, reliable and efficient delivery of coal from mine to port.

About - The Opportunity
We have a number of vacancies for licensed electricians to join and support a highly specialised and skilled Ballast Cleaner operations/delivery team. The project requires employees to travel and work in various locations across Qld (and at times interstate), in the rail corridor, and on track.

You would be supporting the RM 900, (the largest ballast cleaning consist in the southern hemisphere and the only consist of its size operating on narrow-gauge track). You will be vital team member contributing to daily operations by:
* Operating work stations (Front Drive Car, Screening Car, Excavating Car and/or Rear Drive Cars)
* Assisting with repairs during breakdowns
* Conducting preventative and routine maintenance (between production shifts)
* Washing down plant and equipment, and
* Other duties as required
**Manual handling and heavy lifting involved

Successful applicants will be employed on an ongoing casual basis, working 10 to 12-hour shifts (alternating night and day shift.)

About You
As the ideal candidate to join our team as a qualified electrician, working on our clients the Ballast Cleaning project, you will:
* Be a safety conscious, team player
* Have attention to detail and commitment to delivering high quality work
* Capable of following instructions and working autonomously as required
* Enjoy working outdoors, and not afraid to get your hands (or clothes) dirty
* Physically fit/agile (able to handle manual labour and move around in tight areas around the machinery and work stations)
* Capable of responsibly managing your fatigue between shifts (important due to 10-12hour shifts and rotating day and night rosters)
* Be career driven, self-motivated and dedicated
* Hold a current QLD electrical licence
* Experience in the rail freight, coal or mining industry is an advantage but not essential
* Residing in Rockhampton, Mackay or surrounding areas
* Must hold or be willing to obtain:
* Aurizon - Safely access the Rail Corridor (SARC's)
* Category 3 Rail Medical (Including drug and alcohol screening)
* Rail Industry Worker Card (RIW/MTA) and Rail Safety Worker Card (RSW - Pegasus)

ALL applicants must have full Australian work rights such as birth certificate, passport, citizenship etc and be able to provide two most recent contactable work references
