JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Diverse range of electrical and mechanical maintenance duties

The Adelaide Convention Centre (ACC) sits proudly in the Riverbank Precinct, which is rapidly evolving to create a new hub for Adelaide, incorporating new research, health and medical centres, educational institutions, sport, entertainment, convention and event facilities.

An opportunity has become available for a Building Engineering Technician, specialising in the repair and maintenance of electrical and mechanical equipment, to join our Venue Maintenance team.

Reporting to the Building Engineering Manager, the successful applicant will have demonstrated work experience in maintenance of commercial buildings, “A” Class Electrician License, the ability to work at heights using Elevated Work Platforms, possess a high risk work license for mobile plant and have a high level of physical fitness necessary to carry out a wide variety of tasks in what can sometimes be physically-demanding settings.

Primarily based at the ACC, you may be required to undertake duties at any other venues operated by AVM – including the Adelaide Entertainment Centre and Coopers Stadium.

Whilst the position involves predominately Monday to Friday work, it is essential that applicants are able to work outside normal hours if required, be self-motivated and able to work autonomously, possess good communication skills and be firmly committed to working within Work Health and Safety guidelines.

The position provides a unique long-term career opportunity for a committed, performance driven individual with a ‘can do’ attitude, in an enjoyable environment, with excellent working conditions.

Applications, including a brief covering letter and up to date resume, may only be submitted via the AVM website (i.e. not via direct email) - addressed to Ms Angela Miller, Human Resources Manager, Adelaide Venue Management Corporation.

Applications will close at 11.30pm (Adelaide time) on Sunday 16 May 2021, or earlier should a suitable right-fit candidate be identified before then - so please don't delay if interested.
