JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking to engage skilled and enthusiastic Senior Project / Design Engineers to join our Government client! The perfect candidate will have excellent communication skills and have the ability to work honestly and collaboratively within their multi-disciplinary team and be willing to work in our Canberra offices.

You will have an opportunity to make a strong difference throughout this 12 month contract with potential extensions offered and we are willing to consider Australian Citizens and Permanent Residents for this role.

Role / Responsibilities:

  • Analysing and understanding customers' enquiries and requests, often within a multi-disciplinary technical environment, to accurately formulate a response, connection offer and/or project scope of works, including;
    • visiting site, preparing preliminary project cost estimates and associated scope of works
    • performing calculations and assessments for various design criteria including network analysis, earthing studies and overhead line, streetlight and LV drop calculations
    • performing options analysis developing recommendations, and obtaining approval for complex network solutions
  • Preparing and reviewing commercially sound customer offer/contract documents covering all aspects and all phases of the project
  • Liaising with project stakeholders to ensure a successful project outcome and positive customer experience
  • Managing customers' expectations by communicating capabilities and responsibilities with respect to delivery of services and through being the single point of contact throughout the project for technical matters.
  • Maintaining project oversight and advocating customers' requirements to other business teams throughout the entire project implementation process
  • Reviewing all major deliverables to ensure project scope (including contractual dates and approved budgets) and customer expectations are met
  • Identify and implement improvements in relation to business processes, technical solutions and use of operational technology.
  • Promote and actively demonstrate an understanding of Winning Safety Behaviours both within the team and more broadly across the business.

  • Project management skills. Develops clear project plans and timelines, regularly communicating with stakeholders including project team members, and monitors project progress, operating within budget and required standards.
