Role Overview

As part of the Facility team, the Facility Engineer is responsible for supervising and performing facilities engineering work, including (but not limited to), alarm response, fault finding, maintenance, repairs, and modification of equipment relating to controls, electrical, mechanical systems and equipment.

Key Responsibilities (In order of priority)

  • Safety Systems Management - Ensure 100% compliance
  • Alarm Response and Incident Management - Acknowledge alarm and source root cause, compile and draft incident report for review by Management, develop and train procedure, review and submit Incident Management Report for approval
  • Site Security Personnel - Ensure a 100% secure environment is maintained, contracts are in place, and SLA reviewed and invoiced
  • Breakdown and Repairs Management - Develop and train breakdown and repairs management procedure to 99.9999% uptime
  • Infrastructure Scheduling - Infrastructure installed and tested with 99.9999% uptime
  • IBX Security Policy and Procedure - Ensure 100% compliance
  • Access Control Management (Security) - Ensure a 100% secure environment is maintained, contracts are in place, and SLA reviewed and invoiced
  • OHS (personnel) Management - No lost time or injuries and 99.9999% uptime
  • Capacity Management - 99.9999% uptime
  • Planned Preventative Maintenance - Develop and train planned preventative maintenance program to maintain 99.9999% uptime
  • Infrastructure Testing and Acceptance - Engineering design, tested and accepted for compliance
  • IBX Expansion Construction Coordination - Coordinate in with Construction groups ensuring 99.9999% uptime
  • Security Reporting - All security issues reported and actioned
  • Incident Management - Report, escalate and follow-up on all incidents
  • Contractor Induction - Ensure 100% compliance, minimise building impact, no lost time or injuries
  • Material Movement Management - Ensure 100% compliance with documented procedures, no lost time or injuries
  • Hazard Management - No lost time or injuries
  • Infrastructure data Analysis and Forecasting - Infrastructure data readings gathered, documented, analysed and forecasted
  • Capacity Expansion - Planning for upgrades approved and sourcing suitable equipment
  • Defects and Legacy Analysis - Analyse performance and planned upgrades as required
  • Infrastructure Project Design - Detailed design documented and quotes approved
  • Infrastructure Budgeting - Infrastructure budgets prepared and approved
  • Infrastructure Monitoring for Performance - Equipment monitored, performance documented
  • IBX Expansion Defects Rectification - Defects rectified in accordance with design specifications

· Validates design criteria for new principal power installations (e.g. single power source)


  • Excellent written and spoken interpersonal communication skills, proficient in English language
  • Trade background or formal qualifications
  • Technically proficient
  • Past data centre or facility management experience
  • Basic to intermediate computer skills/ Microsoft Office, Word and Excel / CAD
