JOB DESCRIPTION

A highly successful construction contractor, our client is looking for an experienced Site Foreman / Site Manager to join their professional team. The company specialises in the commercial, retail, hospitality, industrial, residential, education and age care sectors.

As Site Foreman / Site Manager, you will be responsible for general construction and building schedules, ensuring that the projects are completed to documented drawings, managing site subcontractors, safety, specifications and cost standards. Experience with demolition and rebuild of a service station or similar would be ideal but not essential.

Preferred start date is Monday 1st March (but can be flexible for the right candidate)

This is a 14 - 16 week contract role with the potential to extend

The role will be site based, 6 days per week Monday to Saturday

Project Manager will visit once a week

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Ensure that onsite HSE and quality inductions are conducted with all onsite staff / subcontractors
  • Develop overall project plans to meet head contract requirements
  • Coordinate site infrastructure planning
  • Organise all site inspections by clients, architects, authorities as required
  • Provide updates to the client and attend client meetings
  • Assist with preparation of scopes of work
  • Liaise with Contracts Administrator to ensure relevant insurances, work method statements have been provided by subcontractors
  • Review progress of activities, ensuring appropriate action is taken to resolve any issues
  • Conduct regular meetings and annual performance management with direct reports

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Trade or building related qualification
  • Minimum 5 to 10 years' experience in site supervision and management of commercial projects
  • Construction Safety Induction (White) card
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Sound knowledge of legislation, regulations and standards relating to building sites
  • Proven ability to lead, coach and motivate large site teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to communicate with and manage client expectations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel

This is a contract full time position providing a great opportunity to work with an established organisation who offer challenging work.
