Your new company
This medium-sized contractor operates within Canberra and the region and has been around for more than 20 years. The company specialises in all forms of civil engineering and construction, working on projects anywhere up to $30m. The company has a strong culture with retention and progression of staff a priority.

Your new role
As a Foreman, you will be responsible for the end-to-end management of sites to ensure that construction works are completed on-time, budget and quality standards. You will have all the general duties of a supervisor/foreman which will include organising materials and trades in conjunction with the project manager as well as ensuring all WHS standards are upheld.

  • Coordinate tasks according to priorities and plans
  • Allocate general and daily responsibilities
  • Supervise and have the ability to train, develop and mentor team members
  • Ensure manpower and resources are adequate
  • Supervise the use of machinery and equipment
  • Resolve problems when they arise
  • Report on progress to managers, engineers etc.
  • Have a hands-on approach to understanding and delivering upon what is required by engineers and management team

What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this Foreman role, you will need:

  • Experience as a Civil Foreman across diverse range of projects: bulk earthworks, roadworks, subdivisions, water treatments etc.
  • Proficient in direct liaison with clients and contractors to ensure efficient delivery of project
  • Confident knowledge of civil supervision
  • Knowledge of the Canberra market, with a desire to stay in the region long term
  • Good management and communication skills.
