WHS Advisor position available for a highly motivated and driven professional

Recruit Personnel are a Maitland based Recruitment Agency who works closely with Clients and Candidates alike across the Hunter Valley. Our positive approach in offering a professional service sees us working across various industries and offering an array of opportunities - this role is no different.

In this instance we are recruiting for a WHS Advisor for our client based in the Hunter Valley region where the successful candidate will provide support across a number of industries within the organisation and be responsible for the provision of high quality HR/WHS systems management.

Key Duties

  • Facilitate and assist with collating and reporting safety performance data, and incident investigations.
  • Strong understanding and capability in hazard identification, risk assessments and controls.
  • Develop and conduct monthly site wide toolbox talks
  • Oversee and coordinate all recruitment, inductions, on-boarding of all staff & apprentices
  • Facilitate and manage all client and site inductions
  • Contribute to and oversee all aspects of the company’s HR/WHS policies and procedures
  • Provide up to date information and training on current HR/WHS matters – Award(s), wages and Motor Traders Association (MTA)
  • Ensure all employee records are maintained in a confidential and secure manner
  • Oversee any payroll issues, employee relations, conflict resolution and disputes
  • Facilitate and assist with collating and reporting safety performance data, and incident investigations.
  • Experience with contractor management and coordination
  • Injury management and recover at work co-ordination
  • Professional communication both written and verbal.

Skills & Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role overseeing HR and/or WHS management systems
  • Cert IV, Diploma or Degree in either HR and/or WHS
  • Cert IV in Workplace Training & Assessment is highly desirable
  • Comprehensive understanding of current Legislation, Codes of Practice & Standards
  • Recover at Work certification/accreditation
  • Proven ability in developing, implementing and maintaining practical HR and/or WHS policies and procedures
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated skills in conflict resolution and negotiation
  • Strong computer, organisational, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work in a team or individually
