JOB DESCRIPTION

Hitachi Construction Machinery Australia (HCA) is a leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment. With a solid network of branches nationally, we service a multitude of customers, including construction, agriculture, quarry, and mining with leading OEM equipment and after-sales support.

As a commercial enterprise, we are embarking on a journey and as such we are now seeking to hire a Mining Engineer – AHS to provide support to our customers and promote improvement in the AHS implementation at our Maules Creek site in Gunnedah on a 6/6 roster.

As the Mining Engineer, you will report to the AHS Site Manager and will be accountable for.

  • Provide input to the mine design, mine planning, autonomous operations, maintenance, and production reporting activities.
  • Participate in the project planning and scoping of the implementation project.
  • Lead AHS site assessment and reporting activities to determine current state and gap analysis for specific customers.
  • Feed customer and market requirements back into the AHS development processes.
  • Assist in the troubleshooting and optimization of AHS operational issues with the implementation team, customer, and dealer.

To be successful you will need:

  • Strong experience working within large mine site operations
  • Strong working knowledge of mine planning software and systems e.g. Vulcan
  • Superior skills in problem-solving and strategic thinking
  • A strong commercial focus/business acumen with demonstrated leadership skills
  • Previous experience with autonomous mining equipment is preferred but not essential
  • Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering is preffered but not essential.
