About you:

To be successful in this role you will have:

Substantial knowledge of Systems Engineering concepts, including requirements, integration, verification and acceptance.

Strong experience with development of safety engineering artefacts including safety plans, hazard logs, safety assessments, safety cases, environmental impact assessments and reports.

Limited understanding of WHS Act and Regulations and how they relate to System Safety including the concept of SFARP.

Demonstrated experience with System Safety and its application to Maritime and/or complex defence acquisition programs

A tertiary qualification in a relevant engineering discipline

Your responsibilities will include:

We continue to grow across the Maritime domain, working on Australia's largest Defence projects.

As an industry partner to the Hunter Class Frigate (HCF) Program, we are pleased to invite applications for the role of Senior Safety Engineer. As this program continues to grow this is an exciting to join our team.

With guidance from the Safety Engineering Lead, carry out the following activities:

Contribute to the development and maintenance of Hunter Combat Systems safety and environmental management plans;

Contribute to the Hunter Combat Systems safety program by engaging Combat Systems teams in product safety and environmental safety assessment activities; Contribute to the development of safety & environmental arguments for Hunter Combat Systems, including communications, navigation, above water warfare, underwater warfare, information systems (including software) sometimes from first principles;

Contribute to the recording of safety hazards in the Hunter Class Hazard Logs using the SMARTer tool;

Contribute to the derivation, management and sell-off of safety requirements on Hunter Combat Systems including the use of DOORs;

Contribute to the management of legislative compliance issues relation to safety & environmental on Hunter Combat Systems;

Contribute to the generation and maintenance of Tier 1 System Design Safety Assessments;
