Client is public sector authority based on Brisbane's CBD. As result of major uplift in projects for the upcoming financial year they are looking to engaged a civil Engineer or Technical officer with good experience as a Contract Administrator / Senior Contracts Administrator / Contracts manager to join the team in a contract role to play a key role in supporting the delivery teams

Your new role
Contract Management team plays a key role in the relationships the business has with all their subcontractor suppliers (main. The CA team helps the project managers with a broad support function covering contract administration and management across maintenance and capital works projects. The role requires someone experienced working as a CA within construction environment bringing experience of managing variation claims, managing payments and monitoring costs and probably working for main contractor, client side consultancy or in similar public sector department.

What you'll need to succeed
Candidates would likely be civil engineer or similar (QS / mechanical engineer / tech officer / construction management professional) with a strong construction, civils, water infrastructure background and some strong expertise working as a Contract administrator
Candidates would have 3-4 years working as a CA and ideally have some experience of working with a local or state government client ensuring some understanding of how the bureaucracy works. Candidates would need good stakeholder engagement skills to be able to negotiate and manage key client and supplier relationships at variety of levels, ranging from senior civil servants through to small subcontract business.

Client offering an interesting and challenging role supporting some interesting projects in Brisbane. They are offering an asap start and an initial 6 month contract with the option to extend. Client looking at hourly rates between 60-65ph with little bit of flexibility at either end for especially suited candidates
