Bring your Landscape Architecture expertise as well as your Open Space Planning experience to this rare and exciting opportunity within Canterbury Bankstown Council as an Asset Planner -Landscape.

The primary purpose of this position is to support the Rolling Capital Works Program through the Project Management Office (PMO) and Framework (PMF).

Your duties in this role will include:

•The assessment of DA Landscape referrals as required
•Assist the Team Leader Open Space Planning to develop and deliver the Open Space Capital Rolling Works Program through Council’s Project Management Framework (PMF) and develop, implement and review Parks & Open Space, Strategies, Policies, Procedures, Plans, Studies, Guidelines, Contracts, etc
•Provide assistance and expert advice to the community, staff and Council, particularly in relation to parks, open space and landscape design issues
•Investigate and respond to customer requests as allocated
•Coordinate detailed designs and cost estimates through the Project Management Office (PMO) for a variety of recreational, open space and landscape projects including active and passive recreation areas, playgrounds, general landscaping, urban public domain areas, and natural areas including bushland, creeks and waterways

The starting salary for this position commences at $80,743 (Grade G, Step 1) + 9.5% Super

Essential Qualifications and Experience for this role;

•Relevant Tertiary qualifications in Landscape Architecture or a similar field
•Experience in planning well designed and cost effective landscape projects.
•Current Class C Drivers Licence
•WH&S Construction White Card
•Visually communicate and test ideas using information technology such as Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD and Google
•Sketchup Experience or demonstrated skills in all stages of open space planning, urban renewal and environmental improvement projects
•Knowledge of current trends and opportunities for water sensitive urban design
•Experience in all aspects of project management including programming, design, community engagement, procurement and purchasing documentation, and assisting in tender process and construction (managed by others)
•Experience in working within multi-discipline teams
•Demonstrated understanding of relevant Acts, Legislation, Regulations and Council Policies.
