We are looking for a Geotechnical Engineer to join us and become a key member of our growing geotechnical group here in Sydney. In this role with Advisian you will have exposure to local, regional and international projects across the Geosciences Practice.

In this role, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Geotechnical inputs and development of geotechnical solutions for a wide variety of projects. The projects will vary from medium to large scale within mining and infrastructure developments. The projects will range from local as well as servicing the wider Worley international endeavours.
  • Provide a support to senior members of the team in conducting business development activities for the local Sydney business as well as fostering positive relationships with the wider Worley group .
  • Planning, management, and providing support to geotechnical site investigation campaigns carried out by the Sydney geotechnical team and liaison with sub-contractors and clients.
  • Engineering design calculations using industry leading software to adequately address the project requirements. The candidate to have a firm understanding of soil and rock mechanics principles and how these apply to geotechnical design of various public infrastructure assets, mining and energy projects.

To be successful in the role you will have:

  • Proven background specifying, procuring, managing and reporting geotechnical site investigations including hands on field experience.
  • Recognised Bachelor of Engineering (BEng).
  • Demonstrate geotechnical engineering experience.
  • A passion for geotechnical engineering and a high degree of technical excellence in both soil and rock mechanics.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills – these will be clearly demonstrated in your CV and during the interview process.
  • A strong focus on clients and delivery.
  • An ability and desire to work in and contribute to dynamic and creative teams.
  • Previous experience with geotechnical software packages is desirable to include gINT, Geostudio, Geologismiki, Ensoft Suite and Plaxis.
  • An ability to travel regionally and internationally.
  • An unrestricted Australian driver’s license.
