Job Description On behalf of our global clients across the Mining Industry NESFircroft are looking to speak with Mine Planning Engineers with underground or open cut base metals experience to join a growing team of technical and operational experts on a friendly FIFO basis (8/6 roster) or living residentially with attractive benefits. This company is well known for their success in the industry across multiple mines with extensive life of mine and promising projects.

Your new role

As the Mine Planning Engineer you will be responsible for mine design, short term planning and scheduling.

Responsibilities may include but will not be limited to:

  • Assist with the design, planning and scheduling tasks for the underground mine
  • Undertake scheduling tasks in the 12 week to 12 month budget space
  • Assist with short term planning (1-4 weeks)
  • Review and implement designs for underground lateral, decline and vertical development
  • Oversee planning and scheduling procedures
  • Conduct underground inspections against the design work
  • Project work as required to support installation of mine infrastructure
  • Liaise with the mining contractor to ensure highest standards of ore extraction are achieved
  • Actively participate to improve and sustain a positive safety culture across the organisation, through proactive reporting and engagement with all personnel in the workplace
Skills and experience:
  • Tertiary Qualification in Mining Engineering
  • Understand 7/21 short-term schedule and Medium Term 3 Month Rolling schedules
  • Proficient usage of Mine Design and Scheduling Software;
  • High level of software packages (Deswik, MineSched);
  • Well-developed understanding of associated mining practices; ventilation, paste fill, development;
  • Underground time to meet First Class Mine Manager requirements is highly desired
