JOB DESCRIPTION

The Academy of Interactive Entertainment (AIE) is the leading specialist educator for game development, 3D animation and visual FX. Established in 1996 as a non-profit organisation to grow the creative digital sector, AIE pioneered specialist education in these fields throughout our campuses in the United States and Australia.

We are looking to employ a full time DevOps Engineer to work within IT team based from our Canberra campus. You will help deliver projects and design, build and develop systems to increase business automation and efficiency of systems and infrastructure.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Working on projects to automate and increase the efficiency of systems, infrastructure and business automation.
  • Work with other parts of the organisation to analyse efficiency problems between systems and business processes, understand and develop robust solutions to these problems.
  • Use appropriate coding or scripting languages
  • Document the design and implementation of projects and maintain documentation
  • Participate in architecture and software development projects
  • Contribute to the development of our monitoring systems and tooling

Experience required:

  • Experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar software engineering and development role with strong understand of Agile, DevOps and Infrastructure as Code.
  • Good knowledge of programming languages such as JavaScript, Python and REST APIs
  • Good knowledge of scripting languages such as Bash, PowerShell
  • Linux and Windows experience
  • Solid skills in investigation and resolving root technical issues
  • Experience working within AWS and Azure cloud environments
  • Comfortable working within an Agile environment
  • Can work independently to design and automate solutions, but also play a key part within a team.

  • Salary is negotiable depending on experience.
