JOB DESCRIPTION

Edifyd is a cloud-based learning management system designed to assist human resources in the training of the extended workforce. We combine course management, compliance, onboarding and analytics all in one integrated solution.

You will be working with the Lead DevOps engineer to manage the AWS DevOps environment and assist in AWS architecture. you will also build, deploy and maintain various applications on AWS. In this role, you will be expected to manage network security and databases in a personable manner. You'll also be required to improve continuous integration systems, but this is just the beginning!

What you will learn: 

  • Professional experience in building enterprise applications
  • Working in a cloud environment (AWS or Google Cloud)
  • Working with serverless, containerization, and microservices
  • Taking projects through all development stages including architecture, design, maintenance, and support, in an agile environment
  • Java programming experience
  • Web development experience
  • Microservices and serverless architecture with service fabric, functions and API apps, service bus, message queues (Docker, Kubernetes, RabbitMQ, Kafka, etc)
  • Extensive experience with relevant programming languages such as Java, Spring-Boot Angular, JavaScript etc.
  • Experience with web application design and development including front-end (e.g. JavaScript, HTML, CSS Type Script, Angular) and back-end languages mainly Java
  • Experience with database technologies such as MS-SQL No-SQL etc.
  • Strong understanding of cloud application patterns & designs desired.
  • Experience in running public cloud applications in Azure, Google Cloud Platform, or AWS desired.
  • CI/CD, DevSecOps, setting up and managing Build and release pipelines
  • Understanding of security threats and secure development practices such as data encryption and least privilege access controls.

This will be a good opportunity for someone who has a passion for programming, good communication skills, and a goal to understand more about how data works inside of businesses.

The outcome of this role aims to propel the successful applicants towards either a career path in consultancy or in the field of software engineer. After the duration of the internship, if demonstrated competency, there will be a consideration for a more permanent role, otherwise referrals into some of the big tech companies such as AWS, Google, Canva would also be possible.

Time frame: 16-20 hours a week (flexible around exams and other commitments) for 6 months

Contract length: 6 months

Part-time hours: 20 per week
