JOB DESCRIPTION

Our established construction firm is growing its clientele and we have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Leading Hand / Foreman to join the team and work on the delivery of residential construction projects across Sydney.

We are seeking candidates with well-rounded experience across delivering residential construction works – with responsibilities including on-site project and subcontractor management as well as contractual and financial knowledge.

Working both on-site and in the office, this dynamic role will leverage your ability to effectively communicate and lead a team towards delivering high quality projects, whilst monitoring resource efficiency and quality.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work under limited supervision either individually or in a team environment on a range of projects.
  • Responsible for overseeing and managing the site crew and sub-contractors.
  • Execution of head contract and subcontract requirements.
  • Preparation of contract progress claims, variations, and extension of time claims
  • Coordinate and manage project and site documentation.
  •  Organise and manage project stakeholder meetings and minutes.
  • Ongoing and effective communication with a variety of stakeholders including clients, architects, subcontractors, consultants, and team members.
  • A thorough knowledge of the drawings, specifications, and quality requirements for all site related activities.
  • Monitor construction programs and completion dates, working closely with the Director to ensure all works and new projects are on schedule.
  • Responsible for maintaining occupational health and safety, environmental and quality requirements.
  • Measure all areas of subcontract work with subcontractors before they leave site.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.

SKILLS

  • Valid white card and registered driver’s licence.
  • Trade qualification, tertiary qualification in civil engineering or construction management highly regarded.
  • Residential construction background with previous experience in a contract administration role, with exposure to cost management and reporting, preparation of monthly progress claims and cashflow projections, subcontractor packaging, quote analysis and procurement.
  • Proven deadline/time management and task management skills.
  • High degree of integrity and honesty in all dealings.
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, organisational, and communication skills with the ability to effectively manage stakeholders.
