About the Role
WorkPac are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer for Rio Tintoâs 6 Mile site within their Track Machines Workshop Department. Karratha based, Residential or FIFO from Perth, 5:2 4:3 roster. Ongoing contract following possible full-time employment.
Duties include:

  • Provide technical advice to the site engineering, maintenance, and operations teams.
  • Provide engineering assistance for procurement of new assets / components.
  • Defect elimination on track machinery
  • Day to day engineering support for mechanical failures
  • Promote a culture of safety by developing and implementing strategies and projects that improve and update designs in accordance with standards.
  • Lead safety and failure investigations and risk assessments.
Skills and Experience
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering or similar
  • Strong Mechanical Engineer background
  • 2+ yearsâ experience in Rail and Track (preferred)
  • Mining industry experience
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • WA C Class Drivers Licence
