Senior Project Officer with Construction (GC21 & MW21) experience required to join NSW State Government in Parramatta, Commencing ASAP

  • $70 per hour + Super | 40 hours per week
  • Parramatta Location | NSW State Government
  • ASAP Start | Estimated 5-month temp assignment, potential to extend

Our large NSW State Government client works with Aboriginal and Indigenous communities to ensure they have access to affordable, quality housing. This is a fabulous opportunity for an experienced Senior Project Officer to join their growing team in Parramatta. This is an estimated 5-month temporary assignment, with a potential to extend.

Working within the Strategic Finance and Asset Management Business Unit, you will be required to design, implement and coordinate comprehensive projects that deliver effective business unit outcomes and meet client service deliver needs by using project management methodologies and processes to ensure consistent high quality outcomes. This primarily will be overseeing the delivery of Solar PV Systems being installed into approximately 2500 properties

In this rewarding role, you will be undertaking the following duties –

  • End to end project management, overseeing the project lifecycle
  • Track, monitor and report on project plans, status updates, milestones against deliverables and quality standards
  • Complete cost control including budget management, processing invoices and variation management
  • Monitor milestone achievement and report on project performance regularly
  • Day to day responsibilities for contract management and resourcing
  • Plan and manage the Quality Assurance process
  • Ensure planned work is delivered to contract and quality standards
  • Attend sites throughout regional and metropolitan NSW to complete safety and Quality assurance property inspections
  • Establish and maintain effective stakeholder relationships facilitating engagement, collaboration and contribution of ideas
  • Partner with Aboriginal Community Housing Providers, Management Providers and local communities
  • Communicate operational and performance issues with stakeholders, recommending solutions
  • Identify and rectify reasons for non-compliance of contractors
  • Develop and recommend risk mitigation strategies
  • Provide regular updates to Program Manager
  • Report on performance trends and issues to Management, focusing on Quality Assurance improvement
  • Analyse and report on audit data and program delivery
  • Work closely with contractors to resolve service deliver and quality issues
  • Provide pro-active and solution oriented communication to support facilitating the success of the project
  • Implement a risk management plan
  • Prepare high quality project documentation including status updates, reports, budgets, and discussion papers
  • Provide expertise and guidance, making recommendations to achieve project deliverables

To be successful in this great assignment you will have the following –

  • Tertiary Qualifications in Engineering, Architecture, Building Surveying or a Construction related discipline
  • Demonstrated Project Management experience
  • Understanding of MW21 and GC21 Contracts
  • Public Sector experience highly desirable
  • Impeccable communication skills, especially in consultation, negotiation and conflict management
  • Solid analytical, investigative and problem-solving skills
  • Strong computer literacy and proficiency with MS Office suite
  • Valid NSW Driver’s licence and willingness to travel throughout Regional and Metropolitan NSW
  • Willingness to undergo a National Police Check
  • Ability to commence and commit to the duration of the assignment
